Practice Space
It is important to have a place to practice. I have a small 10’x12′ “synthetic ice” pad that I use for stickhandling, shooting and tight space skating work. Of course nothing beats real ice time, but most of us adult players will only get limited ice time with all the competition for ice time among other age groups, sports, etc.
If you can’t have a synthetic surface, here are some alternative suggestions that work well for practice space as well:
Driveway with street hockey puck or ball
Yoga mat with street hockey ball
Piece of plywood with epoxy coating (to make it slippery)
A sheet of plastic such as high density polyethylene
Your space does not need to be fancy or super sophisticated, but you do need some sort of space so you can run drills and practice.
